Hi, everybody,

I'm interested in subscribing the Herrenmode Rundschau Magazine.

Is there any news about how useful is the publication nowadays.

I've just checked the older threads on the forum, and the opinions were mixed.

Thanks.

well you'll get no different answers. If you are new to this craft you will be overwhelmed. Other side not.
I think it is nice to have - because you get some new ideas - even if you rub yourself on the contents.
And when you are all alone - nobody to discuss business with - it is a must (in my opinion)

maybe they send you a gratis example so you can see yourself.
They are very friendly - but not much excperienced with international customers.

Thanks, posaune,

The sample would be very useful for considering to order the Deutsch or the English version.

German language only, if you are a native German.

The magazines are good to have, if someone has money he should order them. Here and there you find good ideas.

They also have books, like the Meister Schneider Schnitttechnik, also good to have.

In fact, I'm not properly fluent in German.

I'm sutdying it for other reasons and the magazines could then serve a double purpose.

I'm going to check the boooks too.

thanks

As posaune said, I would suggest you ask for a sample issue ("Probeheft") first. You have to consider that the magazine contains a lot more than just drafts; those are often only a couple of pages. It also has reports about fairs, fabric and colour trends, reports about competitions and meetings, business advice, news, etc., so if your main objective is to have a collection of drafts, the books may be a better choice.
Also keep in mind that the terminology used is very technical and specialized; it is very different from everyday German.
I had a subscription for many, many years, until a couple of years ago, when they suddenly completely messed up payments. And while the publisher and editorial staff may be friendly (I spoke with the editor in chief once), as posaune mentioned, they use, at least for foreign subscriptions, an agency - that turned out to be one of the most unhelpful and unfriendly I've ever encountered.

How would I go about ordering a subscription in English? I can't seem to find that option on the website, and the old thread seems to only have dead links.

Hello,

I have posted an email address that I usually use for correspondence.  I normally renew my subscription by Paypal nowadays.

Rundschau email information; rundschau@aboteam.de

Request subscription for the following:

Men's magazine is: Herren Rundschau subscription with English translation

Ladies magazine is: Damen Rundschau with English translations

I hope this helps you!
