Google Docs would be great for this.
Thanks for the suggestion Pete! I imagine there is a way to upload a document on Google Docs so others can edit it?

Or dropbox might be even more widespread.

Okay, I've finished the spreadsheet... now to try and figure out how to share it!
Posted 20 March 2017 - 09:08 PM
In case anyone is interested I do have the completed spreadsheet compiling all of the translations I could find on this forum. Unfortunately I do not have the time or know-how to upload it!
Please feel free to contact me if you'd like a copy or wish to edit it. Thanks!

it could be loaded on this site. If anyone wants to make an addition he/she save it again.
In Germany we have Vibinet: I think that could be an ideal place for this.

Maybe there is something like this in english?

I would be glad to receive your table.
Vibinet looks interesting!
I can't upload the file directly to this forum, unfortunately. I would be delighted to share a copy, though! Still working out how
In the meantime I can always email a copy to those who are interested.

Thank you for the spread sheet Futura and thank you Graham for putting it into dropbox.

Thanks a lot Graham and Futura. I'm browsing through it and try to figure out if I find something that I can't find. Ups. Well, understand please. I just watched a few episodes of George W. Trippon on youtube...

Durchmesse - diameter
Should be
Durchmesser - diameter
---------------------------------------------
Hosenkeil - crotch piece
Google tells me "trousers wedge"
------------------------------------------
Kariet - checked
Kariert - Checkered
----------------------------------------
Mit nahtzugaben - wtih seams
Mit Nahtzugaben - with seam allowance
---------------------------------
Ohne Nahtzugaben - without seams
without seam allowance
--------------------------------
some more typos and errors are there, I need my beauty sleep, more maybe later.
I like the google docs better than dropbox, everyone (invited) can edit, and the owner can accept or reject edits.
BTW, here is a nice list of everything too. In reverse. https://www.stoffkon...-auf-englisch-/

Hosenkeil = gusset
Capitals are so very important
I don't completely like Diameter for Durchmesser - rather Width since it works better that way when looking at the draft. Thats probably just taste.

Thank you everyone for the corrections! I also have some amendments from posaune.
If there is a way others can access the file and edit it as well, please let me know. I tried to set up Dropbox but it caused problems with my browser. I couldn't find a way to set up editing through Google Docs. Hmmm, it must be obvious.
(Or I may just be completely behind on the times! )

Thanks for that

Brustabnäher is actually chest/ bust dart and not front dart (Taillenabnäher).
Bundfalte = pleat
"Nur der ist Meister seiner Kunst, der immer sucht, das Gute zu verbessern und niemals glaubt, das Beste schon zu haben."
"Only he is a master of his art who always seeks to improve the good and never believes to have the best already"
http://www.dressedwell.net/ It's snarky, but fun.

Thanks - hopefully later this week I will have an updated version of the file available.

In case anyone has been waiting for the updated version, I haven't forgotten about it! I've gotten behind on my drafting studies (along with everything else) due to illness.

please upload it to google docs, and everyone invited can edit. (you can undo edits as you please)
I am also looking for some more mondane words, like high shank, low shank, and what all feet are called in both languages (I should know most of them, but sometimes I get confused).

No worries, I will see if I can figure out how to invite others - so please bear with me It would definitely be helpful for editing.
I may have some words like that! I just remembered I have a scanned PDF of the German version of my sewing machine's manual, which is quite in depth.
