Keepers tweed

I am trying to find some keepers tweed, planing to use it for an equestrian coat. I am looking for the real stuff, heavy weight, indestructible. I found some good covert cloth in Paris, but it is still to light.
I found some tweed sold as keepers tweed on the Harris Tweed Shop, but everything is with an overcheck :

I am looking for some lovat-colored solid tweed, as this one :

Does anybody knows of a mill who makes some ? Or a cloth merchant ?
Thank you,
Nishijin.

The stuff I'm looking for is around 725g per meter (24oz !), and must be thornproof (and bulletproof, I guess).
In fact, I might have found myself since I asked... I've been looking for weeks, I just had to ask here to find an answer by myself a few minutes later

I never heard about this mill, I guess I'll have to ask them for some samples.

John G. Hardy's PATTERN No. 2449 is a heavy Keepers Tweed (22oz and very close weave)
or the Butt of Lewis Tweed with about 400 grms per metre for the 75/78 cm wide cloth ( http://www.cutterand...hp?showtopic=69 )

The Butt of Lewis tweed, though a bit heavy, is very soft and definitely not thorn proof!

I have to agree, this is prolly the closest thing to what you want. It's not cheap, but if made well will last a 100+ years
Another option is to use a heavy weight Melton, especially one that has been waterproofed.

It's not keeper's tweed, but some of it is heavy (7-800g). I've not seen the cloth in person however.

In my opinion , Johnstons makes the most authentic Thornproof Gameskeepers Tweed . Also W. Bill used to but I dont know now . What is left in the OLD Allsport book is good . Not the new one . As I say --Johnstons of Scotland is truely Fine goods ..Hello everyone,

I think that W. Bill have some tweeds in their London shop/warehouse, whether inbolts or in books, I do not know, which are not found anywhere else. I do not know if, as an end-customer, one will be admitted, but I would recomend asking your tailor to take you there and see what they have.

I know very well the tweed choice from Bookster (I love what they do).
I will check with Johnstons, and will try to contact W. Bill (or plan a trip to London to visit them, which would be better indeed !

I found what I was looking for at H.E.Box. They have exactly what I asked, in two colors (one slightly greener than the other).
