Hello Everyone,

My name is David and I'm from Canada.

After a couple years of hardwork, I started my own MTM suit business in Toronto.

However, as I continue to dive deeper into this profession, the more passionate I become.

This forum has a great deal of knowledge, and I'm looking forward to develop myself to become a master tailor.

Hello,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I have been browsing the forum for a few months and love the wealth of information on here. I decided to take up garment making as a hobby/therapy and let's face it, because well tailored clothing gets you noticed.

Anyways, is it just me or are most of the images on here not accessible? Most say out of bandwidth. I have been trying to search the forum for pattern making and hand sewing techniques and all the images are broken and I can't really access much?

Anyways, look forward to expanding my knowledge, thanks all!

About photos not displaying in old threads, most were hosted by photobucket and they started to charge a significant amount of money to continue hosting them.

However, there is a workaround that works for many, depending on the age of the thread. Copy and paste the url of the thread into the Wayback Time Machine on archive.org and then select a screenshot if any are available.

Hello, I'm Ben

I originally learnt to sew as a kid next to my mother who used to do a great deal of sewing and I would help making all sorts of clothes (and anything else you could stitch together) and in all kinds of styles. So I learnt to sew but mostly on womens garments and only occasion male.

But as I got older I lost interest as you do but I never lost interest in good quality clothing that fit correctly which being taller then average and broader then average means that most clothes don't fit on average (although I am happy to say shoulder seems usually do sit correctly on me)

So I've been researching and learning and developing an interest in picking up sewing again, I'm as rusty as an old tin bucket but I remember a lot of the smaller things and I've been reading this forum for some time before becoming a member. The information here has already been invaluable and I'm looking forward to all I am learning to be put to actual practice.

So hello, I won't say much but I will definitely be reading!

Hello, my name is George and I live in Athens, Greece.

My need for well fitted clothes made me to start sewing some of my own clothing. As a tall skinny guy with long limbs, it is extremely difficult to find well fitted clothes of the rack.

The information and the resources that I have found in this forum have been invaluable. For that, I would like to thank the members, especially the professionals, for the time they spend to share their knowledge and experience.

Best regards,

George

Hello!

Although registered for a long time, this is my first time writing. I am located in Prague, in the Czech republic. I would say, that my interest in tailoring is based on natural tendency for perfectionism (tendency that being of a imperfect man) and desire to understand better this beautiful art of cloth, necessary geometry, threads and buttons. Resources of this forum helps me a lot - I am writing these words dressed in a trousers and a waistcoat of my own making.

Target of this post is to express gratitude for existence of this forum and it's community & "break" my silence, as I hope to be more active here.

P.

Hi, everyone! It is a surprise to me that I can sign up to be a member.I almost could not believe.  For the past few years, I have been dropping by, but  I could not register as a member. So I was limited to explore any further beyond the basic forum,.  However, I happened to know that http://movsd.com/Bes...utter/index.phpI became a member over there. I am glad to be able to come here and learn more. Here you have all the hidden treasure : opinion, information, experience, technique.... All the great things.

A big thanks to everyone who contribute here.

Oh, my goodness, I just registered and become a member, I just went back to explore my favorite part of coatmaker's  forum, It grieves me when I find that all the photos are blurry, all of them. I cannot read the words and graphics.

Before they can be clearly read, but not tonight, it seems something terrible has happened! Please help!

I wonder how long it has been so ? Does it related to the new registration system? When did the new system start? Does anyone notice this change? Or is it the issue with the PhotoBucket?

Excellent opportunity, as an alumni of the Academy I can highly recommend any course that Rory offers. You know (as Kirby Alison says), it's not just the courses on offer but just spending time with a master tailor who eats, sleeps & breaths tailoring. It's also a fantastic location to think.
