Dear Mr. Zuschneider,

I am new on the forum & am still getting the hang of navigating and using the site, please advise if this book covers drafting for individual clients using clients measurements?

Is this book is in German or English?

Regards
Prakash Parmar

The book is written in German, it might be too difficult for a none German. It contains the fashion of 1954 where the coats had a bigger ease. You need to have knowledge of modern draft then you can draw out much of knowledge. If someone love the style of the 50thies then it is the right book. With the knowledge of modern drafting you can modernize all the drafts from the book. The book is a comprehensive craft book, also with making examples.

Dear Zuschneider,

does the book have step by step making techniques for a full canvas jacket?

I need a book which can shows how to measure a client & then how to draft a drop 6 jacket. If this book has this, I am more than willing to buy the book, scan it & translate it in English (it is easy to do so these days).

many thanks for your reply.

For the others here is what a drop is:

Suits have what is called a "drop," which is the difference between the number given in the size and your pant size. American suits typically have a 6-inch drop. For example, an American suit in size 38R would have pants that are size 32. Slim-fit suits or European suits typically have a 7-inch drop. So, you will need to subtract 7 from the over-arm measurement to see what the pants size is.

This is an MTM/RTW issue, and has nothing to do with bespoke tailoring as a complete suit is made from measurement. It could even be a drop 12 of a body builder... (hopefully I never have to do that).

The book has everything, measuremnts and all kinds of drafts in all kinds of postures of customers plus the making.
