I found this interesting blog, sadly in Japanese, so there is a lot I don't understand (I'm too lazy to take the several hours I would need to translate each post...).
But pictures only are already very, very interesting. And online translator helps get a grasp on what the author is trying to do.
So, I found this way to make a nice (under-)collar interesting for cotton cloth, when we want shape but can't use ironwork. It reminds me of ideas about collars for furs and leather.
