Is it me or is Mr John Hitchcock, retiring managing director and head cutter at Anderson & Sheppard, just the coolest tailor and cutter around. For me he's an idol and the very essence of an old-school master tailor at the Row.
Lovely to see his son Steven Hitchcock continues in his father's spirit!

I'd like to wish him so well in his retirement.

-There might be a lot of tweed merchants out there making a bodger, but I'm sure not one of them. I'd rather be kicking my heels than making a pork on the mangle. No crushed beetles to be found here!

The tribute by his son was good. He started cutting coats late it seems (as Thomas Mahon likes to relate), but it's good to see a trouser cutter in the spotlight; it's always coat cutters who get the coverage.

Each phenomenon which is taken up should be treated with as much thoroughness as possible at that standpoint... One thing at a time and that done well!
