I had the opportunity to make a suit from glass-bead reflective fabric (similar to 3M Scotchlite), and enjoyed combining the old-world techniques I learned during my apprenticeship with this unexpected and challenging material. When used with a flash, the fabric photographs as dazzling white, owing to the fact that the millions of glass microspheres on the surface reflect light back at the same angle it came from, unlike normal surfaces which scatter and disperse light every which way.
