In the thirties a dutch publisher issued films about the tailoring trade for educational purposes. Here are a couple of them:

It doesn't seem to have any sound attached or is it just my computer?

Very nice videos! Thanks Faya
-There might be a lot of tweed merchants out there making a bodger, but I'm sure not one of them. I'd rather be kicking my heels than making a pork on the mangle. No crushed beetles to be found here!

You're welcome.

I knew that Misset issued a lot of journals/books about the tailoring trade, but I didn't know they made films as well.

It's interesting to me that in the second video the tailor shows the relation between morning coat, jacket and waistcoat.

A good tailor always draft the waist coat into the coat.

In the first film, did you see the girls sat down while drafting, the boys were standing.
My back aches while looking at them.
Thank you Faya for letting us see them.
Are there more?

Standing while drafting probably quater scale patterns looks painful to me too.

These two videos were part of a film series consisting of nine instructional films. I think the second one is a two in one.

I've sent two emails to find out about the other six films and I hope we can watch those too. You'll never know.

I will keep you posted.
