Julien Scavini, a Paris-based tailor, first came to my attention when he was one of the judges of a home sewing contest called "Cousu Main" [Sewn by Hand] which was the French version of "The Great British Sewing Bee."  I started reading his blog, "Stiff Collar." His posts are always interesting, but sometimes a little technical for my level of French. Google Translate hasn't always helped that much. He draws beautifully.

In his post recent post he discusses a recent vacation spent in New York.  Because the topic is more general, the French is more accessible. He discusses some menswear stores and his impression of New York men: To his delight, many men wear suits, far more than in Paris, men of all ages wear bow ties, men under 40 who dress in suits tend to favor the Italian style, and the shoes are appalling.  :)
