Hello All,

This month I am celebrating forty years working at my shop, and thirty years as it's owner!

Each day I look forwards to arriving in the morning, keeping so busy has made the years flow by all too quickly.

I look forwards to the next forty years!

Regards

Jeffrey 2117

I agree. Making a living doing what you love to do is not work.  Wishing your next forty years are fruitful.

Congratulations. You are lucky to enjoy doing what you do. I hope you are training up someone to have the same future?

Each phenomenon which is taken up should be treated with as much thoroughness as possible at that standpoint... One thing at a time and that done well!

Well, that sounds like you are cutting your work career short.
After all, Methuselah lived till....

It is nice to see people who love there work.
This one guy made cowboy shirts. He had a factory.
He was over a hundred years old and still working.
His son said, "Who ever heard of a son retiring before father?" So, he couldn't retire yet.

Good luck to your next forty years.

Hello Henry,

Yes, I love my work very much.  It would be nice to have someone young to train up and help me out, then take over the shop.  Difficult to find anyone who wants to stay put so long, this is a very mobile community here.  I have had three offers in the past years, but no good prospects.

This spring, I am clearing out the old stuff from the back of the shop to make more work room up front. I have been busier than ever, since I set up my website four years ago.

Google has been good to me!  I am clearing out old machines, including the 1909 adding machine, that we used up until the early 80's.

Kind regards

Jeffrey 2117

Congratulations!  That is great.  I agree, if you are doing what you love, it is not work.  It's play.  It's encouraging to hear how you have enjoyed your business.

Best wishes for many more years.

Congratulations on this major achievement of 40 years working as a tailor in the business of tailoring!

Looking ahead to the future. It would be such a wonderful thing to see your business carry on when the time is right for you to sell it. This would be a 3-way win for 1) your community 2) the visionary apprentice who is willing to work incredibly hard to make it work and 3) you who deserve to see the business you built carry on. I wish you well!
