Seriously, a tailor who can spend so much time on making clothes for such conventions apparently hasn't that much orders to work on in the first place.
Herr Seidel operates in a district of Oldenburg in Niedersachsen, Germany and is the only one outside Hamburg I know about up in the north. Surprisingly his apprentices won gold medals at national tailoring finals. Surprisingly, because his sleeves are the worst I have ever seen from a German tailor and this would have totally disqualified any tailor in earlier tailoring competitions. A friend who worked for Frankfurt based tailor Habersack told me years ago that a non-optimal lapel buttonhole cost him a gold medal, so I wonder what a lousy sleeve would have done?
A German article I found: http://www.nwzonline....php?id=2070335

I don't think there is "fashion" involved here. I don't see any trends, no exciting new cuts, just something that has been seen for a long time.
Using flashy colours for the same old draft is not really creative or fashion forward.
What worries me most is that the obvious defects are not spotted, no serious tailor should let anything like that out of his shop.
  • Der Zuschneider and tailleuse like this

"Nur der ist Meister seiner Kunst, der immer sucht, das Gute zu verbessern und niemals glaubt, das Beste schon zu haben."
"Only he is a master of his art who always seeks to improve the good and never believes to have the best already"

http://www.dressedwell.net/ It's snarky, but fun.

BTW, this man is a bespoke tailor:

He's Richard Vill from South Tirol (Alto Adige), the German speaking area of Nothern Italy.

I know there is not much interest in this...... nevertheless. I see so many bad cuts with the super fine wools.
Maybe the drafts should be changed?
Many asian tailors this time.

Die Zeiten sind vorbei, wo solche Wetbewerbe noch wichtig waren.
