John French was a well known fashion photographer in London during the 1950-60s. He was once described as "the man who brought a new glamour to fashion photography". The following images come from a book printed at the time of a Victoria and Albert Museum exhibition held in 1984. The book is long out of print and unavailable through the [url="http://www.vam.ac.uk/"]V&A Museum website.[/url] The images date from between 1948 and 1965.

Beautiful clothes, beautifully shot. It's also really interesting to see how well dressed he is, always. Something you'd not get from a modern day photographer, or many people for that matter.

^ Very true. How many professional photographers would wear a coat and tie for shoot these days? Probably none.
